The obvious trauma of the subject is impossible to avoid. But, when this horrible moment of truth is joined with the rain falling upon their dark attire and the futility of comfort from the person at right, we identify with this woman’s loss. The details of her loss no longer matter to us. Thus we echo that vain hand of comfort in this image.” A stunning series of photography that capture the heart-break and destruction of the Christchurch earthquake. Many amazing images of the aftermath of the quake but Iain’s series has the edge Brilliant images that convey to me the horror, rather than simply the damage.
